Welcome to Rosewell & District Community Council

Purpose

Rosewell & District Community Council is a statutory organisation made up entirely of local volunteers who are committed to supporting and representing the people of Rosewell and the surrounding area.

Our purpose is to:

  • Provide a strong, independent voice for the local community.
  • Represent the views and concerns of residents to Midlothian Council and other public bodies.
  • Encourage open discussion about local matters that affect our village.
  • Support community wellbeing by helping residents stay informed and involved.

We work to ensure that local decision-makers hear and consider the views of people who live and work in Rosewell.

Snapshot of What We Do

The Community Council meets in Rosewell on the third Monday of every other month to:

  • Find out what’s happening in Rosewell and the wider Midlothian area.
  • Discuss local issues raised by residents.
  • Review planning applications and other proposals that may affect our community.
  • Make recommendations and representations to Midlothian Council.
  • Provide updates on ongoing community matters and projects.

Rosewell & District Community Council holds seven meetings each year in Rosewell Parish Church Hall. All meetings begin at 7pm on Monday evenings.

Meeting dates and times are also displayed on the Community Notice Board in the public garden area next to the bus stop at the corner of Carnethie Street and Gorton Road.

All meetings are open to the public, and we warmly invite residents to attend, listen, and contribute.
